About ATB
ATB Special Products provide design and manufacturing capabilities for non-standard motors. The focus is on customised and integrated motors, axial air gap motors (or pancake motors), water-cooled motors, permanent magnet motors and submersible motors. In addition, we also produce traditional niche products and supply a global customer base with industrial DC motors from Bull Electric and electro-hydraulic and electromagnetic brakes from Witton Kramer.
ATB Special Products have become established as experienced suppliers for manufacturers of vacuum pumps, railway signals and the relevant control systems, DC traction, conveying equipment and for service and sales markets.
The ATB Group benefits from many years of experience in product design and manufacture for a wide range of markets and applications. Pooling this collective knowledge through our integrated and collaborative continuous development programmes the group delivers incremental and step change leading to innovative solutions for the success of tomorrow.
ATB is customer intimate, working hand in hand with our clients to create customer solutions for optimum performance.

Quality
The ATB Group places great emphasis on achieving the highest possible quality at all its manufacturing sites. The quality features of all components and motors produced by us are defined through design, manufacture and test.
Throughout the Group we have a broad range of testing facilities that allow us to measure all electrical and mechanical parameters plus noise, temperature rise and EMC compliance.
All production facilities are certified to DIN EN ISO 9001.

Markets
Defense
We are an experienced supplier of a wide range of military and defence equipment including AC and DC ship motors, generators and control equipment. Our experienced electrical and mechanical designers can deliver bespoke solutions for your application.
Marine electric motors can be supplied in line with most standards such as DNV and Lloyds. We can also supply equipment to military standards including requirements such as shock and vibration testing on naval motors which we have the facility to do on our site.
As with all our product ranges, we have a reputation for manufacturing reliable marine electric motors and control equipment of a very high quality which are engineered to cope in a hostile and challenging environment.
Petrochemical
In a sector where safety, reliability, efficiency and minimum downtime are top priority, ATB rank among the market leaders in electric motors for high and low voltage applications. We have one of the best track records both in terms of protection zones and motors for hazardous atmospheres in the oil, gas and chemical industries.
Virtually all global oil and gas companies have approved ATB, as we supply them with reliable products. Used in upstream, midstream and downstream processes, our electric motors and drive systems play a key role in ensuring that oil and gas are delivered to their destinations safely, reliably and efficiently. In many chemical and petrochemical plants, the production process would not be possible without ATB electric motors designed for hazardous atmospheres. Not only do our highly efficient motors work around the clock in many manufacturing operations, but they also make a significant contribution towards keeping energy costs as low as possible.
Power Generation
Rising power consumption and the trend towards sustainable power generation have led to greater demand for our expertise in the maintenance and installation of new generators and complete power plant projects.
ATB are one of the leading manufacturers in supplying electric drives for the energy and renewables sector. We produce asynchronous and synchronous generators for wind and water turbines. In addition, we also manufacture custom motors complying with the stringent requirements for nuclear power plants. When building all these products, we are committed to reliability, safety and efficiency.
Water & Waste Water
Water is one of the vital resources of the people. Whether for drinking water, for cleaning, for (industrial) cooling, for drainage, desalination, or for other purposes - Electric motors from ATB can be found in every step of the water supply chain.
Our motors are used in order to have the right amount of water or waste water at the right time and in the right quality at the right place. We do this in the most energy-efficient way - both in the low voltage range with frequency-controlled motors with integrated frequency converter, as well as with our custom-designed high-voltage motors.
Mining
In one of the roughest and toughest environments, it is crucial that you can rely on your equipment. High temperature fluctuations, dust, vibration and high humidity are among the factors to which our ATB motors have to withstand. We achieve this exceptional performance only through years of experience and close collaboration with leading manufacturers and outfitters of mining equipment.
With more than 100 years of experience in this business, we have become a worldwide scale - for both products in underground and open pit mining and the steel industry.
OEM
With manufacturers of small-, medium- and large-scale applications for pumps, hydraulic power units, cranes, hoists and many other devices we share a very close and sometimes decades-lasting partnership for development. The spectrum ranges from highly customised motors to modified standard products. A separate prototype allows us the rapid production of prototypes. For the production of larger quantities we have cheap manufacturing capabilities within the Group available. This segment the high trust of our customers is reflected in us, which is needed in this type of co-operation.
